SIUE Opens up the 2023 season on the road vs UIW


                       



 SIUE Baseball is set to open the 2023 season next weekend. The Cougars finished 27-28 last year just under 500.  We had a brief interview with head coach Sean Lyons on the circumstances surrounding today's game. The Cougars will open up at UIW and the following weekend at ULM, however later in the season they will face SEC Missouri and play a series vs Tennessee Tech.

                                                                     pitcher: Ryan Ward In 2021 the UTSA Roadrunners finished the season 22-26 and finished 14-17 in conference: 12-14 away and 10-10 at home, they finished the season with a 5 game losing streak. Fast forward to 2022, UTSA finishes the season 38-20: 19-11 in conference. In addition, the Roadrunners were 16-13 away and 21-6 at home. Oklahoma had one heck of a week in Arlington despite loss in championship game .

  The Sooners were undefeated in the BIG 12 Tournament until they faced rival OSU in the championship game. There were many highlights during the week that fans could enjoy, from Kendall Pettis' amazing catches to Braden Davis pitching a complete game, along with Anthony Mckenzie and Jackson Nicklaus swinging the bat well. Although disappointed by the loss OU will host a regional at home.  The selection show on Monday will reveal who is coming to Norman this upcoming weekend.                                                          Postgame Presser

Post Game Interview with Ohio State Head Coach Bill Mosiello at the Las Vegas Classic

  In March Ohio State won 2 games at the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic. Coach Bill Mosiello in his 2nd season at Ohio State has the buckeyes at 23-22 Overall with two weeks left in the season. If the Buckeyes can head into the Big 10 Tournament around 500 and make a run they definitely have a chance at the post season bid. Early season wins over ranked West Virginia and Oklahoma could definitely help their case.
