Duke goes with Muscara for coach





 Corey Muscara has been named Duke head coach. Muscara comes to Durham from Winston Salem after being the pitching coach at Wake Forest the last 4 seasons. He started his career at southern New Hampshire and continually rose thru the ranks with success at all levels. Duke lost in the super regionals to Murray State ,who took the final bid to the college world series. Complete press release in link below.

 The first weekend in college baseball had some interesting match ups. So who was impressive? First, I'll talk about the teams that stayed undefeated, then the teams who had impressive weekends both at home and on the road. Many teams excelled this weekend but I'll only name a few in this article.  Impressive Undefeated Teams Michigan   went 4-0 in   the   Puerto Rico Challenge this Weekend defeating 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Arizona State was in a dog fight this past weekend vs Ohio State; every game in the series was competitive. ASU managed to go 3-0 and get the sweep. Teams that won the series on the road Illinois (2-1) won 2 out of 3 vs Abilene Christian at Whataburger field in Corpus Christi. Next week the Illini will travel to San Marcos to take on a tough Texas State team. Purdue (4-0) won four straight in Texas vs Stephen F Austin. Next week they play Niagara in North Carolina.
