OU defeats Texas 8-6 in an exciting Game 2 of the Red River Rivalry series

 



Cade Crossland started off the game with three strikeouts; the Junior would finish with a total of 10. In the second inning Brayden Horton would step up big by homering. The Sooners took the lead 1-0. Casey Borba would score for Texas in the third inning tying the game at 1. Dawson Willis would get things going for OU in the bottom of the 3rd with a bunt single and a stolen base. Jason Walk would provide the sacrifice bunt to advance Willis to 3rd base. Willis would then score on a throwing error by Texas, making it 2-1 Oklahoma.  The 4th inning became a small ball clinic with multiple Sooners laying down bunts -  Dasan Harris bunted and scored. Kyle Branch and Trey Gambill would both single in the inning, helping the Sooners take a 5-1 lead. Texas would battle back in the top of the 5th inning and take a 6-5 lead. It looked like it would be de ja vu all over again until the bottom of the 8th inning when Scott Muddler doubled to right center field. Brayden Horton hit in the pinch runner with a single and Dawson Willis hit a 2-run home run to put Oklahoma ahead  8-6.  There was some dramatic action in the top of the 9th but OU would  find a way to finish out the game and tie up the series 1-1.
