Weekly Presser with The Ohio State University head coach Justin Haire

Image
Head Coach Justin Haire was available to preview the Buckeyes mid-week vs Miami Ohio. Coach also talked about their second Big Ten road trip coming up this weekend in Iowa city. Iowa won 2 out of 3 at Rutgers on the road. They also won 2 out 3 at home against the Michigan State Spartans. The Buckeyes 5-12 on the season lost all three games on the road at Indiana. Coach Haire is getting his pitchers to throw strikes. Game 2 of the series was very competitive and went to extra innings. Many Ohio States games have been competitive against good competition early in the season. The Buckeyes just seem to come up short. As coach Haire tries to put his stamp on this program it sounds like he wants the team to play to win and finish these close games. Look for this series to be very competitive this weekend.    Team Records                          Ohio State   5-12   0-3 Iowa    ...

There was some chatter in the press before the Texas / Texas Tech game. The crowd Saturday night definitely impressed at Las Vegas ballpark. The Texas Tech bullpen was into the game early with a lot of yelling and screaming, cheering on their teammates. Only a fence separated both bullpens in right field. The first inning was scoreless, then in the 2nd inning Texas took a 7-0 lead. Texas would later add three more runs in the 5th inning making it 10-0. In the bottom of the 5th inning the Red Raiders would add a run to avoid the run rule by the 7th inning and in the 7th inning they would add 3 more runs making it 10-4. Finally in the bottom of the 9th Texas Tech scored 1 more run making the final 10-5.

Illinois went up 5-4 looking to close out the game in the top of the 9th inning. Damian Bravo would homer in the bottom of the 9th and tie the game.   From there Texas Tech took the lead and the momentum, and would close out the game winning 10-6.                              ...
