USF hires Hannahs







 Mitch Hannahs comes to USF after a phenomenal run at Indiana State, his Alma Mater.  In 2023, Hannahs lead Indiana State to a 45-17 record. The Sycamores would also host a Regional that year. This past year in 2024 he lead the Sycamores to a 44-15 record and the Lexington Regional.  Also in 2014, 2019 and 2021 NCAA tournament appearances can be added to his record. Nevertheless South Florida is a great University with top notch facilities and USF understands the great potential it's program has, therefore they needed to make key hire to lead the program in the right direction.

 The first weekend in college baseball had some interesting match ups. So who was impressive? First, I'll talk about the teams that stayed undefeated, then the teams who had impressive weekends both at home and on the road. Many teams excelled this weekend but I'll only name a few in this article.  Impressive Undefeated Teams Michigan   went 4-0 in   the   Puerto Rico Challenge this Weekend defeating 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Arizona State was in a dog fight this past weekend vs Ohio State; every game in the series was competitive. ASU managed to go 3-0 and get the sweep. Teams that won the series on the road Illinois (2-1) won 2 out of 3 vs Abilene Christian at Whataburger field in Corpus Christi. Next week the Illini will travel to San Marcos to take on a tough Texas State team. Purdue (4-0) won four straight in Texas vs Stephen F Austin. Next week they play Niagara in North Carolina.
