Cal had a rough outing at the Las Vegas College Baseball Classic however the Golden Bears never quit. 

They Could have Easily accepted the run rule while being down to Pitt this ball club kept fighting. 

After the classic the Bears would win a mid week match up against Stanford and sit at 28-17 with about 

10 days left in the regular season and 14-13 in the Pac-12. I am sure Coach Neu understands that the early 

season struggles helped this ball club  down the Stretch.

 The first weekend in college baseball had some interesting match ups. So who was impressive? First, I'll talk about the teams that stayed undefeated, then the teams who had impressive weekends both at home and on the road. Many teams excelled this weekend but I'll only name a few in this article.  Impressive Undefeated Teams Michigan   went 4-0 in   the   Puerto Rico Challenge this Weekend defeating 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Arizona State was in a dog fight this past weekend vs Ohio State; every game in the series was competitive. ASU managed to go 3-0 and get the sweep. Teams that won the series on the road Illinois (2-1) won 2 out of 3 vs Abilene Christian at Whataburger field in Corpus Christi. Next week the Illini will travel to San Marcos to take on a tough Texas State team. Purdue (4-0) won four straight in Texas vs Stephen F Austin. Next week they play Niagara in North Carolina.
