Oakland head coach discusses the upcoming 2023 season

 



Coach Banfield's straight forward style got right to the point and he gave an excellent interview from the perspective of a mid major baseball program in the Midwest. Oakland opens up with Lamar and will face Michigan and Michigan State later in the season.  Part 1 ,Part 2 below

 The first weekend in college baseball had some interesting match ups. So who was impressive? First, I'll talk about the teams that stayed undefeated, then the teams who had impressive weekends both at home and on the road. Many teams excelled this weekend but I'll only name a few in this article.  Impressive Undefeated Teams Michigan   went 4-0 in   the   Puerto Rico Challenge this Weekend defeating 4 teams from 4 different conferences. Arizona State was in a dog fight this past weekend vs Ohio State; every game in the series was competitive. ASU managed to go 3-0 and get the sweep. Teams that won the series on the road Illinois (2-1) won 2 out of 3 vs Abilene Christian at Whataburger field in Corpus Christi. Next week the Illini will travel to San Marcos to take on a tough Texas State team. Purdue (4-0) won four straight in Texas vs Stephen F Austin. Next week they play Niagara in North Carolina.
